Quote is one of the things which encourages us when we get tired or are struggling.
僕らが疲れた時やもがいている時、名言は元気をくれると思います。
One day I got an idea that students can learn not only English but also a life through a quote in English.
英語の名言を使ったら、英語だけでなく人生の勉強もできるなぁとある時ふと思いつきました。
So I created an activity called "today's quote".
ということで、「今日の名言」という活動を生み出しました。
In the beginning of my class, One of the students presents about the quote they got impressed.
授業の最初に、生徒が、その子にとっての印象深い名言をプレゼンします。
After the presentation, other students or I ask a question about the quote frankly.
そのあと、他の人や僕からの質問タイム。
I feel this activity is very interesting because students can tell what they really want to tell in English.
この活動は生徒の本当に伝えたい事を英語で伝える練習になるので、すごく面白いと思います。
If I can expand the contents of what they talked, their opportunities of the meaningful input and output will be assured.
もし僕がうまく話を広げられたら、意味のあるインプットとアウトプットの機会も保障されます。
It's very challenging for me because this is the time I am tested as a language teacher.
僕にとっては、言語教師として試される時間になるので、難しくはありますが。。。
When I had this activity at the OPEN class where about 100 teachers came, a lot of them gave me good feedbacks about this activity. Now I would like to recommend every teacher.
研究大会で行った時には、かなりの反響を見ていただいた先生から頂きました。皆さんにおススメしたい活動です。

成人の日に

PERCEIVING
I turned on TV, and a program introduced one of the ways Ichiro, the best Japanese baseball player in MLB, motivates himself.
深夜にテレビを見ていて、イチロー選手のモチベーションの高め方を紹介していた。
That is "to decide the main event in a day".
1日のメインイベントを決める
I remember it, and perceive just a shedule as a "main event".
覚えていたので、普通のスケジュールと思っていた用事を、「メインイベント」として捉え直してみた。
Then, surprisingly I realize my heart beated with excitement at the moment.
すると、びっくりしたが、その瞬間本当に胸が躍った。
This is one of what you call "perceiving things again". I learned this has a capability to motivate ourselves.
これはいわゆる「物事を捉え直す」の1つであると思う。これは自分たちを動機づけることもあるのか、と学んだ瞬間でした。
GOALS (OUT OF CLASS)
I got The English Teachers' Magazine as a circular today.
今日、英語教育1月号が回覧で回ってきた。
The theme is about "preparations for the coming new term".
テーマは「これからの準備」。
This has inspires me, so I want to note what kind of goals I want to accomplish for the improvement of my class in 2016.
刺激を受けたので、2016年、自分の授業力向上のために成し遂げたい目標を書き留めたい。
OUT OF CLASS
1. I will see other teachers' classes at least 1 period a week
2. I will read books about Evaluation and Assessment at least three chapters every week
3. I will take university entrance examinations by myself at least once a month, and analyze it
授業外にて
1. 週に1時間は他の先生の授業をみる
2. 評価や評定に関する本を最低3章毎週読む
3. 月に1度、1校分の大学入試を解き問題を分析する
As the result of them, I would like to improve my own perspective to see classes critically, to be a Evaluation & Assessment Master, and to get familiar with university entrance examinations
その結果、批判的に授業を見る知見を深め、評価評定マスターになり、大学受験に精通する
Don't forget to do first thing first.
やらねばならぬことはしっかりやるぞ。

MOMENTUM (English)
On the 3rd of January, a championship game of American Football was held at Tokyo, in Japan. In the game, the champion of X-league and that of university league fought for the sake of the #1 prize in Japan.
