EVALUATION

Writing a new article in a while.

I get very busy every February.
I quit writing last year because I got much more busier in March, but somehow I can cotinue this year.
久しぶりのブログです。
昨年度同様に仕事で激動の2月、昨年度はここでやめちゃいましたが、今年はなんとか続けられそうです。

I want to write about "EVALUATION".
Does it sound priggish?
Some people might think that the word seems for higher positioning people, because purposes of the word tend to focus on "controling" or "mamaging".
For examle, when you hear the word, you would imagine "grade" or "test", wouldn't you?
今日は【評価】について。
【評価】って堅苦しい言葉な感じ僕だけでしょうか？
立場が上の人から下の人への表現というイメージありませんか？？
それはきっと目的が、管理のため、になっていることが多いからだと思います。
評価と言われてパッと思い浮かべるのは、テストとか成績とかではないですか？？

However, not only for those purposes, we always EVALUATE things everywhere.
Above all, it is a crucial role for IMPROVEMENT.
でも実は僕らは至る所で【評価】していて、
それはとりわけ【成長】には重要な役割を果たしています。

Without EVALUATION, you would be blind at what you cannot do and you can do.
If you do not know your weakness and strength, you would never try to utilize your strength or overcome your weakness, and just always tackle whatever you cannot do (it could be important sometimes though).
【評価】なしでは、なにができて、なにができないのかもわからない。自分の弱みや強みがわからなければ、強みを活かそうともできないし、弱みを克服しようともできず、ただできないことに向かってやみくもに突っ走るだけになってしまう（やみくもが大切なときももちろんありますが、いつもではないはずです）

EVALUATION has a variety of types. When we simply divide into two, they would be "self-evaluation " and "other's evaluation".
【評価】って、いろんなタイプいろんな分け方があると思います。
簡単に２つの観点で見たときに
自己評価
他者評価
があると思います。

For teachers, we need to make students understand the importance of "self-evaluation" and make them do it properly so that the students continue to try to improve themselves.
教員は生徒を適切に自己評価させて自分にできないこと➕1を目指し続けさせる必要があります。

At the same time, we make them evaluate each other in a good way to make a positive and collaborative relationship so that they respect each other and aim high contemplatively.
同時に、他者評価しあわせる中で、建設的に互いを認め、高み、深みを目指しあえる人間関係づくりをさせていかねばなりません。

Also, what I don't want to forget is that a teacher evaluates them as one of the others.
そして、教員自体が一人の他者として、生徒を評価する必要があります。

It's never because we are at a higher position. Rather, we support them carefully.
If students are heading to somewhere wrong, we make it sure together where the way they want to get ahead is.
決して上からではなく、
むしろ下から支えるかの如く。
間違った方向へ進みそうであれば、一緒に前を向いて進むべき道を確認しながら。

This is EVALUATION that we should be aware of.
これが我々が意識しないといけない【評価】のあり方だと思います。

I just know really little about what the best way to EVALUATE each individual pupil is.
一人ひとりを育むためにどう【評価】をしていけばいいのか、まだまだわからないことだらけです。

The only one of the truths I can say now is that "EVALUATION is essentially important, but there is something more important than EVALUATION."
一つ確かなこと、それは
「【評価】はとても大切だがもっと大切なことがある」
ということ。

That is a prerequisite of EVALUATION.
Let me talk about it some times later.
それは【評価】の前提にあるものです。
が、その話はまた今度。
