QUESTION
I got an idea during class yesterday, so I want to share it.
It's about a way of feedback after students' talk.
昨日授業中、ぜひシェアしたいなぁと思うことを閃きました。生徒の会話活動後のフィードバックの方法に関してです。
I often set an activity called "Narikiri question".
This is the practice for speaking skill, pronunciation and communication strategy.
僕はよく「なりきりquestion」という名の活動を行います。話す力、発音、コミュニケーション方略のための練習です。
Students talk in pairs about the theme I prepared for, and they are supposed to keep making a comment and a following question after the each response.
生徒らはペアで僕の与えたテーマについて話します。ただ、単に話すのではなく、相手の返答ごとにコメントを一言、そして関連した質問をしなければなりません。
This makes them practice for not only the factors of speaking skills but those of specific communication skills: they can practice for the way how to ask questions, how to make a comment or how to keep conversation.
これは、発話技能以外にも、質問の仕方、コメントの仕方、会話の続け方などコミュニケーション方略も練習できます。
Few minutes later, I set a sharing period, a feedback period with the whole class members, for three minutes.
そして数分後、3分ほどクラスで共有するシェアの時間をとります。ようはここがフィードバックの時間。
Two of the students are chosen, and one of them is the questioner. The other is supposed to answer. I was wondering how I can involve the every one of students when they're listening.
2人が選ばれ、1人が質問者になり、もう1人が答えます。
聞いている間、どうやったらクラス一人ひとりを巻き込めるかなぁ、と悩んでました。
Here's my new idea.
そして昨日思いつきました。
I gave a task to the audience.
"You guys have to find good points of the two students as much as possible"
僕は聞いている生徒に、
「よっしゃ、2人の生徒の良い点をできる限り見つけよう」
と言いました。
so they try to think and find it, listening what the speakers are saying and how they are speaking.
すると生徒は2人が何をどのように話しているのかを考えて、見つけようとしていました。
What is good of this is that the speakers can get positive feedbacks from their friends. I can give them a negative feedback.
これの良いところは、友達から良いフィードバックをもらえるところです。僕は改善点を言えば良い。
I would be happy if they start to find good points of other people when they communicate with others out of class, because students themselve can learn from those good points.
授業外でも、他の人の良いところを見つけるようになってくれたら嬉しいなぁと思っています。それが彼／女自身の成長に繋がると思うので。
